-ton / -tön

The suffix -ton / -tön indicates “without”  or “-less” or “free”

Suolaton ruoka. Food without salt.
Rasvaton maito. Fat free milk.

Pilvetön taivas. Skt without clouds. (pilvi - cloud)
Lapseton pari. Childless couple. (lapsi - child)
Liisa on onneton. Lisa is unhappy. (onni - happy)
Koditon. Homeless. (koti - home)

Sateeton kesä. Rainless summer. (sade - rain; e:ee; d:t)
Lumeton talvi. Snowless winter. (lumi - snow)
Hampaaton mummo. Toothless granny. (hamas - tooth)

Laiton. Lawless. (laki - law)
