Two different vowels in the same syllable Vaikea: va - ike - a “Ea” is not a diphthong as there are no finnish diphthongs ending with “a” or “ä” so you always divide the two vowels. Kivitalo: ki - vi - ta - lo Tärkeä: tär - ke - ä Saippua: saip - pu - a Ng: In Finnish in an ng combination the “g” is kind of silent but there are exceptions: Tango, mango, kongo, etc.
