Finnish Language - Lesson 2: Simple verb conjugation in Finnish

Personapronominit  - Persoonapäätteet (with the verb puhu: talk)
(minä) puhu - n: puhun
Sinä puhu - t: puhut
Hän puhu - vokaali (the last vowel gets doubled) (a, e, i, o, u, ä, ö, y): puhuu
Me puhu - mme: puhumme
Te puhu - tte: puhutte
He puhu - vat / vät: puhuvat
If the verb ends with “a” you use he -vat and if the verb ends with “ä” then you use he -vät.

Tanssia (to Dance)
Minä tanssin
Sinä tanssit

NEGATIO (Negative)
Puhua (to not speak)
Minä en puhu
Sinä et puhu
Hän ei puhu
Me emme puhu
Te ette puhu
He eivät puhu
For the negative from you take the stem from the first person present tense and you add en, et, ei, emme, ette or eivat / eivät depending on the person.
