QUESTIONS


-ko / -kö (questions)
When asking a question you add -ko / -kö to the verb:


Puhutko (sinä) englantia?
Do you speak English?


A short way to answer is with the verb
Puhun (short) I speak
Kyllä, (minä) puhun englantia. (long answer) Yes, I speak english
En (short answer) No
En puhu (short answer) Don’t speak
Ei, minä en puhu englantia. (long answer) No, I don’t speak english.

Oletko sinä irlantilainen?
Are you from Ireland?


Kyllä, minä olen irlantilainen (long answer) Yes, I am from Ireland.
Olen (Short answer) I am
Ei, minä en ole irlantilainen (long answer) No, I am not from Ireland.

En ole (short answer) I’m not.
